The people behind TAMPiNO
Hoi, we are Uschi and André Salathé. We first had the idea for TAMPiNO three years ago while on holiday in the Allgäu. We wondered how inserting tampons could be made easier, more hygienic and more sustainable.
That question became a reusable applicator with a flexible sleeve, developed and made here in Switzerland.
From an everyday question to our own invention
TAMPiNO did not happen overnight. We spent three years developing the idea, making prototypes, refining the shape and listening carefully to how users got on with the product.
- The idea. A reusable insertion aid that fits flexibly around the tampon.
- The development. Different prototypes and two testing phases with users. Their feedback guided the next steps.
- TAMPiNO today. An applicator in ten colours, with a flexible sleeve (Spiralgleiter), plunger and cap. We currently make it ourselves.
We know every part. And we listen.
