Yes, you can swim with a tampon. o.b. Switzerland’s manufacturer guidance recommends using a fresh one before swimming and changing it afterwards. Here is what to pack and how to keep track of wearing time.
Before swimming
Allow time to change and read your tampon’s instructions. Choose absorbency to suit your flow. Our absorbency guide helps you understand the choices. If you have not used a tampon before, read our first-tampon guide rather than putting yourself under pressure just before entering the water.
Pack a spare tampon and a suitable period product for afterwards. A small pouch helps keep your supplies together.
Using TAMPiNO before you swim
Use TAMPiNO only for insertion. After placement, remove the flexible sleeve (Spiralgleiter) and plunger completely. The tampon stays in the vagina and its string remains accessible. The applicator does not go into the water.
TAMPiNO changes neither tampon absorbency nor wearing time. Follow the tampon manufacturer’s instructions and count the full wearing time from insertion.
After swimming
Change the tampon after swimming, as the manufacturer guidance recommends. Wash your hands when changing it and use a fresh tampon. Keep your clean, completely dry applicator separate from wet swimwear.
Would you like an applicator?
Our TAMPiNO instructions explain preparation and each step. Keep the cleaned and dry parts in a clean pouch, separate from wet swimwear.
